The project examines intercultural encounters resulting from German-Polish youth exchange programs and their consequences for the participants' attitudes toward the respective neighbor country. Seen from a pedagogical perspective, such international youth encounters are areas of learning which stimulate various dimensions of understanding through immediate contact. The project will outline whether and in which way these opportunities of learning have an influence on the orientation and attitudes of the youth involved. Various complimentary projects, for example a project focusing on Polish youth, form the wider context of this study.
