Hinduism in Migration

In the last twenty years, rising numbers of Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka have settled in exile communities in various parts of Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Over the years, these emigrants have constructed temples of Shiva and Shakti and established a temple cult with seasonal celebrations and a strong community life, modeled - albeit with significant differences - on life in Southern India in Sri Lanka. The project interrogates the theological developments, innovations, modifications, and changes in comparison with the Indian original.
