From her Professorship of Literature at Jacobs University Prof. Amodeo is on leave serving as Secretary General at the “German-Italian Center of European Excellence Villa Vigoni e.V” till 2018. (https://www.jacobs-university.de/directory/iamodeo / www.villavigoni.eu)

In her research she is an expert in the esthetical specialties of intercultural literature, which she established to look on instead of regarding migrant literature only out of a social perception.

Since 2007 she organized in Bremen (Germany) the globale° - Festival für grenzüberschreitende Literatur , which was distinguished as “one of the projects on the list of the UNESCO Year of Rapprochement of Cultures 2010”.
