Conference and Journal of the Research Training Group “Transnationale Soziale Unterstützung (Transnational Social Support)” Department of Education

We are pleased to inform you about the establishment of the International Research Cluster "Transnational Social Support" (www.tss.uni-mainz.de). It responds to the challenges of the increasing impact of transnational developments upon social work and related fields. Its overall objective is the transnational opening and development of social work and related fields through:

• Research

• Training opportunities for early stage researchers

• Academic exchange (conferences, workshops and publications)

The newly established Journal "Transnational Social Review – A Social Work Journal" by the Research Cluster will provide a new forum for discussion and exchange in the field of transnational social work. The first issue will be published in fall 2011.

We are pleased to announce the International Conference “Social Support on the Move – Transnational Social Work” which takes place Oct. 4-5, 2011 at the University of Mainz, Germany. The conference is an international forum to discuss up to date research findings, theoretical approaches and practical consequences of transnational developments and its meaning for social work and related fields.
