Awarding rhythm

Please refer to the homepage of the Gutenberg Teaching College at https://www.glk.uni-mainz.de/lehrpreis-der-jgu/ for the allocation rhythm.

Nomination

The nomination of Teaching Award winners is a matter of departmental autonomy. If departments wish to link teaching awards to the results of course evaluations, please note the following information:

  • The department decides to link the award of the teaching prize to the results of the department-wide course evaluation and contacts the ZQ.
  • Nominations for the Teaching Award should include at least three, but no more than four, lecturers per department.
  • In addition to nominations by the Departmental Council, student representatives on the Student Council should also be able to nominate a lecturer.

Implementation

Once the nominations have been sent to Veranstaltungsbefragungen@zq.uni-mainz.de, the lecturers nominated for the Teaching Award will receive a notification email asking them to identify the courses in which the student surveys will be conducted.

Candidates must nominate at least two courses in which the student surveys can be carried out. A total of four courses can be nominated for the JGU Teaching Prize. The total number of participants in all course evaluations should be at least 20 students. Courses held jointly with colleagues cannot be considered. Courses of all formats (digital, face-to-face, hybrid) can be registered, provided that the above conditions are met.

Once the courses have been registered, the lecturers receive the corresponding access data (QR code and link + password) including an explanation of how to conduct the student survey in the course. Once the survey has been completed, the results of the course evaluation will be sent to the lecturer electronically.

Deadlines and dates

If a department decides to link the awarding of teaching prizes to the results of the department-wide course evaluations, please contact us no later than two weeks after receiving the announcement from the GLK.

The registration of the courses to be evaluated should be sent by e-mail to Veranstaltungsbefragungen@zq.uni-mainz.de at least 3 weeks before the survey is carried out.
