Student Council/Fachschaft

The student council is a group of students, who represent their peers from the the various subdivisions of the Department of English and Linguistics in the various committees. They are lected by all present students in an annual plenary meeting at the beginning of each semester. Everyone with an interest in committee work, peer counselling, organizing events etc., can be elected. Student coucil meetings are open to every student studying at the Department of English and Linguistics. There, you can also get informed about the coucil's work. It is open to listen to and discuss your problems and questions and will gladly accept suggestions for improvements.

English Subdivision

Our email address is: We usually offer extra office hours for first semester students during freshman week. Please pay attention to bulletins and announcements. Our mentor's program on freshman day will likewise help beginning students as well as students from other universities to orient themselves in their new academic surroundings.
