Dr. Barie Al-Masri is a qualified teacher of English and Economy with multiple years of teaching experience in various fields of higher education.
He received his Master's level degree in American Studies, English Literature and Business Administration from Saarland University and successfully completed his two-year teacher traineeship in Speyer with the Second State Examination for vocational colleges. At the vocational college BBS T2 he taught English, Economy, Business and Nutrition for professionals in the areas of hotel and restaurant management.
For several years he delivered courses in Business English and intercultural communication for exchange students at the Department of International Affairs of Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.
Additionally, he gained international teaching experience at one of the largest bilateral educational projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD): for two years he was lecturer for German as a Foreign Language at the GJU in Amman and responsible for coordinating various exams, intercultural training programmes and teacher training.
Since 2014 he has been lecturer and tutor for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at the Department of English and Linguistics. As a researcher and project team member of Language Learning Futures he investigated the affordances of a Master's level seminar on participants' TPACK competencies and technology acceptance and successfully completed his dissertation in the field of digital learning environments and deeper learning processes.
