Theories of Mind

Theories of Mind

Summary

This overview shows initial approaches for the conceptualization of the mind and modifications of these theories throughout translation process research.

The two main concepts in this context are the theory of Cognitivism and Connectionism respectively. The former was prevalent during the early stages of translation process research and likened the mind to a computer. The latter seeks to explain intellectual abilities using artificial neural networks.
