Research Methods and Techniques

Research Methods

Summary

This overview focuses on the research methods and techniques that have been employed over the various stages in translation process research in order to gain an understanding of the processes occurring during translation and in an effort to establish an effective system of measurement.

The most prominent of those methods are the following, which are explained in greater detail in the presentation linked above: think-aloud protocols, eyetracking, keystroke logging, longitudinal studies, momentary studies and, most recently, neuroimaging techniques. Additionally, all of the above are to be considered in the context of the development stages in translation process research.
