For the concept of University Mainz, the Dean’s Office of Faculty 05 was awarded a 520,000 € grant from the federal and state female professor program (Professorinnenprogramm II des Bundes und der Länder). These funds serve to subsidize two professor positions (W-Professuren) and two project staff, who are tasked with developing and realizing innovative programs at Faculty 05, with the goals of:
a.) Promoting young female academic talents, target group: students, e.g. through networking talented female students
b.) Promoting (young) female scholars, target group: postgraduates, postdocs, private lecturers, e.g. through subsidizing international and national conference attendance (capped).
c.) Promoting newly appointed female professors, e.g. through a dedicated mentoring program
d.) Promoting work-family balance, target group: academics with children, e.g. through the creation of a parent-child room and a family network
