Application for admission
Application and enrollment is possible for both the winter or for the summer term. The Student Service of the University is responsible for applications, not the Faculty. All relevant information can be found on the JGU Student Portal. General information on the study program, study accounts, and enrollment can be found on the pages of the Student Advisory Service. Specific questions with respect to study content, requirements, and vocational fields will be answered by your respective academic advisor.
The courses and lectures at JGU can be found on the Study Information Net JOGU-StINe.
You can find further interesting information about studying, working, housing, and partying on the Mainz campus on the Portal for the Campus Mainz.
All degree programs are in German. More information on German language requirements can be found here.
First-Year Students
First-year students are always well advised to read up on requirements for the degree programs, vocational fields, and potential pre-courses before beginning their studies. All programs offer opening events. We strongly advise you to attend. For the schedule of pre-courses and opening events, please check the brochure “Beginning your Studies” or the university calendar. You receive the brochure “Beginning your Studies” with your enrollment documents. Information for first-year students and instructions for the study information network JOGU-StINe can be downloaded in the right column. If you have any further questions on the degree programs, please contact your academic advisor. If you have any questions upon enrollment (e.g., “Have I been accepted?”; “When will I receive my enrollment documents?”; “Can I still apply?”), please contact the Student Advisory Service. You find further links to information about the university calendar (JOGUStINe) and deadlines in the right column. You find further interesting information about studying, working, housing, and partying on the Mainz campus on the Portal for the Campus Mainz.
JGU International | Erasmus+
"Erasmus+ gives students the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a European university in order to broaden their social and cultural skills and improve their career prospects. They get to know the academic system of a foreign university and its teaching and learning methods". | (JGU International)
All information about the Erasmus+ program can be found on the JGU International website.
There is an annual online information event via MS Teams. The dial-in code for the event and the date (usually early/mid-January) will be sent via a system message in JOGUStine. If you are interested, please register for the event in JOGUStine. A checklist and deadlines, e.g. application deadline for the respective academic year, will be announced in mid-February via the relevant Moodle.
