Appointments at the Dean's Office, The Office of Student Studies and the Examination Office can be arranged by telephone or e-mail during service hours. Appointment bookings are only possible for matters that cannot be settled by telephone, post or e-mail. Appointments without prior booking are not possible.
Bachelor and Master thesis as well as dissertations and registrations as doctoral students should be submitted by regular mail/house post or if allowed by e-mail.
The Dean's office carries out faculty-related business and is under the direction of Dr. Mark Bajohrs. The head of the faculty is the Dean (currently Prof. Dr. Eckhard Thines, Institute of Molular Physiology) who is supported by the Dean's Office. The Dean represents the faculty, is the heading the faculty council. He implements the decisions of the faculty council and conducts departmental business under his own authority. His official substitute are the Vice Dean for Research (currently Prof. Dr. Susanne Foitzik, Institute of Organismic and Molecular Evolution) and the Vice Dean für Studies (currently Prof. Dr. Roland Strauß, Institute of Developmental Biology and Neurobiology).
Studies
As far as students are concerned, the Dean's/Registrar's Office is primarily their point of contact for study specific questions or exam registration. .
Registrar's Office/Examination Office
The Examination Office is located at the dean's Office and headed by the head of the examination board (z. currently Prof. Dr. Thomas Hankeln, Institute of Organismic and Molecular Evolution).
Study and Teaching
The area of study and teaching is represented by the Dean of Students (currently Prof. Dr. Roland Strauß, Institute of Developmental Biology and Neurobiology). He is supported by the Student Advising Office.
