Botanical Garden

The Botanic Garden of Johannes Gutenberg University at the Faculty of Biology is a scientific garden. It aims at representing the broadest possible variety of plants and at contributing to the maintenance and further exploration of this variety. Regionally, the garden commits itself to preserving the rare plants of Rhineland-Palatinate. By explaining the significance of endangered species, it attempts to have a share in preserving their habitat.

The Botanic Garden is a vital constituent of Johannes Gutenberg University. It conveys the knowledge about plant variety and their significance to the general public by offering guided tours, exhibitions, and special events. Last but not least, the garden is a place for musing and relaxing on the university campus and a habitat close to nature within an urban environment.
