Visiting our Faculty

By public transport

The city of Mainz has a main station and a number of other rail stations. Schedule information is provided by Deutsche Bahn or the RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsbund). The easiest way to get to the Gutenberg Campus is to alight at the main station and to then take a bus or tram.

For your ride from Mainz Main Station to the university, you should buy a so-called "Kurzstrecken-Ticket" which is valid within three bus stops. This "short-distance ticket" is cheaper than a normal bus ticket. You can buy it directly from the bus driver or use an automatic ticket machine. Information on public transport within and around Mainz is provided by Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) and Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG).
