The B1-collaboration is the accelerator working group. Its main tasks are the design, construction, operation and development of particle accelerators, especially the Mainz Microtron facility (MAMI).
Our goal is the production of a highly polarised electron beam for the MAMI accelerator system. This beam is used for particle and nuclear physics experiments in our institute and will be necessary for future high-energy electron accelarators like the ILC (International Linear Collider) as well.
