Intensive Study Programme 2015

22.02.-07.03.2015 in Porto
"Inszenierte Kommunikation und symbolische Kommunikation"

In the course of our first Intensive Study Programme on the subject of “Inszenierte Kommunikation und symbolische Kommunikation”, students and lecturers from nine European countries came together in Porto for two weeks in order to discuss questions of alterity, the experience of foreignness, processes of continuity and breaks in continuity with the aid of premodern literary texts. In a variety of formats, including lectures, supervised and individual reading, discussion groups organized by students and seminar debates, we learned with and from one another about cultural transfer and communication across linguistic borders. Discussion sessions on intercultural reflection, a workshop to discuss the skills and competence required for career entry, evening discussions with language assistants and a guided excursion to Braga helped reinforce the connection between theory and practice.
