In the working group on modeling the structure and levels of competencies, which took place in Berlin, about 30 participants discussed the possibilities of a coordinated procedure of the projects of the research program regarding the theoretical modeling of academic competences. The meeting aimed at developing a substantial and well justified heuristic, which could serve as a guideline when developing tests and items.
First, the necessity and the advantages of such a theory-based, a priori approach were discussed. Afterwards, three KoKoHs-projects from the fields of teacher training and economic sciences presented their advanced models. Subsequent to this, all other projects from the research program had the possibility to present their approaches. With this, the ground was prepared for an animated discussion, which identified possible commonalities and starting points for a theory-based collaboration.
