Compensation of Earth’s magnetic field at a Double Scattering Mott (DSM) polarimeter

←back

Problem:

The polarization of a 100 keV electron beam must be measured very precisely by a Double Scattering Mott (DSM) polarimeter For this purpose, a reproducible and stable positioning of the electron beam on the target is required, which is complicated by external varying magnetic fields.

Method:

Within this thesis the existing interference along the beam axis is to be measured and a concept for shielding or compensation to be developed.
