The Center for Translational Vascular Biology (CTVB) is one of three key research areas in the field of Translational Medicine of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Goal of the CTVB is to improve the translational link between basic and clinical research in the field of cardiovascular and preventive medicine. Therefore, new therapeutic approaches and effective preventive measures for cardiovascular diseases are to be developed. Since 2007 the Center has been active as an interdisciplinary association of researchers from various medical institutions. The CTVB comprises three core Projects which provide an institutional platform for translational networking: The Gutenberh Health Study (GHS), the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis CTH) and the German Center for Cardiovascular Disease (DZHK).
