KoMeWP

Modelling and measurement of content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge in Business and Economic Education

Project description

The project “KoMeWP” aims at modelling and assessing content knowledge as well as pedagogical content knowledge of future teachers in the field of Business and Economic Education. We focus on the domain of accounting as this area allows the development of items on different competence levels resulting in a suitable and demanding competence model and test instrument. Specifically, our research project’s aim is to identify three central competence facets, especially the competence (1) to support learners in solving exercises, (2) to offer multiple approaches to problems and (3) to anticipate possible learning difficulties and to identify students’ mistakes. In the course of the project we will examine about 1,000 students participating in a Master programme of Business and Economic Education at 26 universities in Germany. To validate the competence model, the test will also be carried out at four Austrian universities.
