Requirements / organisational issues

This course consists of a theoretical part (lecture by Prof. Thomas Wagner) and a computer practical course (by Prof. Holger Tost).
The lecture starts with the basics of atmospheric radiation, but also deals with practical applications of radiative transfer in the atmosphere, i.e., remote sensing.
In the computer course (starting after Christmas) a simple Monte-Carlo radiative transfer model will be developed. Programming language of the course will be FORTRAN, but the students are free to adapt the program to any other programming language of their will.
The admission to the radiation exam requires active participation in both the lecture and the computer course.

Course language will be English.
