Requirements / organisational issues

This lecture will provide a theoretical introduction into extratropical cyclones covering quasi-geostrophic theory, isentropic analysis and the potential vorticity framework. The theory lessons will be complemented by numerical hand-on tutorials of extratropical cyclones using ECMWF data and python.
