MSc program

The MSc course program introduces students to modern methods of research. Besides deepening the meteorological knowledge, the program aims at the capability to do scientific work. Formally, this qualification is verified by a successful attendance of the respective modules, as well as the completion of the MSc thesis.

The course program is roughly subdivided into two one-year phases, first the deepening and consolidation of acquired meteorological knowledge, followed be the research phase. The former is used to impart meteorological in-depth-knowledge, based on the fundament established during BSc studies. The latter serves to teach students self-contained scientific work. The main element of this phase is the MSc thesis which the students prepare within six months. This proof of capability for scientific research is closely connected with key skills such as project management, team work as well as the presentation of scientific findings.
