General Information

Welcome

at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics!

The institute is part of the Faculty 08: Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. In 6 working groups (Theoretical Meteorology, Theoretical Cloud Physics, Earth System Modeling, Chemistry of Particles, Experimental / Observational Meteorology, Atmospheric Trace Gases) we explore processes and interconnections within daily weather as well as on time scales of climatological relevance. By cooperation of theoretical models and experimental methods, research at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics contributes to a better understanding of the atmosphere. During studies, the mandatory mathematical and physical basics are provided alongside special knowledge of theoretical and experimental meteorology.
