March 2020: Pressespiegel WiWiSET
On 18th March 2020 the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published an article about the WiWiSET project. The article emphasizes the importance of the test in predicting student drop-out and its relevance especially in the field of business and economics.
February 2020: Projektende WiWiKom II
The project WiWiKom II ends on 29th February 2020. We would like to thank all participating students, as well as the cooperating higher education institutions and other cooperation partners who have made this project and its implementation possible. Thanks to you, it has been possible to generate a data set with a five-digit number of participants, which allows conclusions to be drawn about Bachelor students in economics all over Germany. The analyses will be continued, and we will provide information on the results in future publications.
November, 2019: Successful final surveys in the WiWiKom II project
In the summer semester 2019/winter semester 2019/2020, successful collection was again conducted at institutions throughout Germany. We were able to survey a total of about 1300 students. We would like to thank the institutions for their participation and cooperation! Participants can view the results here.
July, 2019: Several talks at upcoming conferences
We are pleased to be represented with our projects at numerous national and international conferences in 2019. The project results have already been presented this year at the GEBF in Cologne and at the conferences NCME and AERA in Toronto. Now the WERA in Tokyo, the EARLI in Aachen and the BWP in Graz are on the agenda. We are very much looking forward to the opportunity to discuss our work.
January 28, 2019: Transfer Workshop WiWISET in May 2019
At the end of the WiWiSET project, we are pleased to announce the transfer workshop of the BMBF-funded research project, which will take place on 27th May 2019 at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
Based on the unique data from a nationwide representative pre-post measurement, the transfer workshop will focus on various aspects, such as valid initial diagnostics and the prognosis of the student dropout in economics.

January 7, 2019: International conference WiWiKom II in December 2018
On the occasion of the end of the funding phase of the BMBF-funded research project WiWiKom II, an international conference took place at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from December 12th to14th 2018. The focus was on the transfer of the results into practice in higher education. We would like to thank all speakers and participants very much for their contribution to this productive event. We are looking forward to the international conference on the German WiwiKom II research project from 12 to 14 December 2018 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Results and implications of the nationwide project including approx. 10.000 students in higher education will be discussed with international experts as well as with representatives of German institutions in higher education. All interested persons can register for the German-language transfer workshop on 14.12.18 until 30.11.18 here.

November 26, 2018: Third point of measurement successfully completed

In the winter term in 2018/2019 we collected data in institutions of higher education all over Germany again. Approximately 1300 students have been included. We like to thank everyone cordially for the commitment and support!

October 29, 2018: Third measurement point in WiwiKom II now running

We are currently surveying students all over Germany. We would like to thank all participants for their contribution to this project and the participating universities for their friendly cooperation!

September 26, 2018: Survey planning for the third measurement point in WiwiKom II

In the coming winter semester 2018/2019 we will again be recruiting students at various universities throughout Germany. Preparations are currently in progress for the surveys, which will take place in the first weeks of the term.

on Modeling and measuring competencies in business and economics among students and graduates –Current State and Future Perspectives


1st to 2nd December 2014 at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

At the end of the first funding phase of the research project WiwiKom which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) the closing conference will take place at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany) on Monday, the 1st December 2014. The program includes presentations from our national and international Co-operations from the USA, Mexico and Japan as well as themed panel discussions and lively talks with international experts, with their implications concerning the project results and for future Research.
