Dear Students,on the occasion of the current exam registration period (June 8–22, 2026, 1:00 p.m.) for the 2026 Summer Semester, we would like to remind you that you can only take exams in the Department of Geography if you register for them during this registration period. If you have already been “implicitly” registered for your first exam attempts during course registration, you do not need to take any further action (status “confirmed” in Jogustine under Exams). There is no automatic registration for retake exams; in this case, it is your responsibility to register for the exam (technical note: The registration button for retake exams is often located in the semester of exam eligibility; please adjust the semester selection accordingly. We offer one exam option per semester for each exam).
At this point, we would like to draw your attention to the retake deadlines specified in your examination regulations for exams on the 2nd or 3rd attempt, following a first exam attempt that was graded “failed.”
Expiration of the retake period without a successful 2nd or 3rd exam attempt results in final failure of the degree program. The specific details of these retake periods may be regulated individually in each set of examination regulations; therefore, please be sure to consult the examination regulations applicable to your degree program:

During the exam registration period, students may generally withdraw from exams, with a few individual exceptions. We offer a special exception for exams in the Geography department: students may withdraw from these exams up to 48 hours before the exam date.
The exam registration period for the B-sessions of some exams in October (= part of the 2026/27 winter semester) will run from September 1–30, 2026, at 1:00 PM. In Geography, you are not required to take the first exam date. If you wish, you may also choose the B-date or a later date for your first exam attempt. Important information: In case of illness, only medical certificates will be accepted! Ideally, please use our form for this purpose. Certificates of incapacity for work (“AU”) cannot be accepted as part of the exam process. Important: Technical registration issues must be reported via email during the exam registration period—only then can we assist you.
