It includes a comprehensive discussion of the Standard Model, which describes all known elementary particles and their interactions through the electromagnetic, weak, and strong forces. It covers the experimental techniques used in particle physics, for example the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. The lecture also highlights the limitations of the Standard Model, exploring unanswered questions in particle physics that are driving current and future research efforts (that the student may soon embark on, starting with a masters thesis).
