This event is based on the lecture Astroparticle physics. Basic knowledge in the areas of particle and nuclear phyiscs is recommended as well.Contents
In this lecture we will cover the basic structures of stars, in particular our sun, their life cycles and evolution as well as their violent death in supernovae, leaving fascinating remnants such as black holes or neutron stars. We will also touch upon the basics of astronomy, as well as the formation of galaxies, (re-)discover the fascinating role of neutrinos in astroparticle phyiscs and will discuss how elements are forged in stars. In doing so, we will use a plethora of physics concepts ranging from particle- and nuclear physics to seismology and optics.Additional information
