The EFRE-project “RNA-CAGE” focuses on a new technology for highly specific RNA purification.
Why is RNA purification important? Research, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics often require a single, precisely defined RNA in the purest form possible. Until now, this has only been possible to a limited extent.
The new method uses a special structure that functions like a custom-made “filter.” Its effectiveness has been comprehensively demonstrated in the laboratory and confirmed using two independent methods. It has worked on two different biological samples and has been successfully scaled up to large quantities.
Co-funded by the European Union and the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the project aims to commercialize a scalable, patented method and develop products that could revolutionize RNA research and therapy.
