Research group – Silvana Deilen

My name is Silvana Deilen, I am 26 years old and I was born and raised in Bielefeld. At the beginning of 2018 I earned my master’s degree in Specialised Translation at Cologne University of Applied Sciences (foreign languages: English and Spanish). Prior to starting my master’s degree, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Multilingual Communication. As a translator, I am happy to be part of an interdisciplinary research team and I am looking forward to participating in the project “Simply complex! A multimodal and interdisciplinary approach to the investigation of linguistic complexity in Easy Language”.
I am confident that our studies will lead to new insights in our field of research and that our data and results will contribute to the evidence-based development of Easy Language in Germany.
In my PhD project I am examining how complex words with an interpunct are cognitively processed.
