Short biography

Laura Schiffl

B.A. Linguistics
M.A. Clinical Linguistics

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics from Goethe University in Frankfurt in 2015 I studied clinical linguistics in Marburg. After graduation there 2017 I worked as an academic speech and language pathologist for one year. With the project "Leichte Sprache" at JGU Mainz I would like to continue my academic career, which was previously also marked by the interest in speech and language impairments. While I examined specific traits of language reception in people with trisomy 21 for my bachelor's thesis my master's thesis concerned the understanding of specific morphological structures by people with two forms of dementia. As part of the dissertation I would like to investigate hierarchies in lexical complexity. email address: lschiffl@uni-mainz.de
