With Seafile the university of Mainz provides a central sync-and-share-platform (similar to Dropbox and Google Drive). Available for students and employees of the universities of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Opposed to commercial cloud solutions, the data and information are stored on our servers and won't be transmitted to any third-party provider. Which makes Seafile compliant with data protection policies.
Each student or employee has a costless quota of 20GByte. You just have to login with your university credentials.
It is not only possible to share and edit data within the university but also with other universities from Rhineland-Palatinate.
