Motivation

Prospective employees and young professionals are increasingly using online media to search for information and acquire the knowledge required for solving everyday professional tasks.
The critical handling of online information in work environments is a central practice-relevant competence facet, especially in the professional domains of medicine, law, and teaching.
Despite this relevance, little research has been conducted on the use of online information in professional educational contexts to date; it remains to be explored how the use of media can be effectively promoted in a profession-specific way.
BRIDGE addresses this research deficit and focuses on how trainees’ occupation-related use of online information can be fostered during the practical training phases (internship/practical year). The trainees’ use of digital media is recorded and analyzed in a direct, valid, and process-/result-oriented manner.
