In view of global developments, the future challenges faced by social support systems can no longer be met by relationships and structures of support that are limited to individual nations or societies. Therefore, the Research Training Group, funded by the German Research Foundation, is geared towards empirical research on Transnational Social Support. In existing research on social support, transnational constellations have received very little scholarly attention.
The Research Training Group 1474 “Transnational Social Support” is located both at the Institute of Social- and Organizational Pedagogy at the Foundation University of Hildesheim and at the Institute of Educational Science at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.
