Research Interests

I am interested in creating novel functional materials with a focus on biomedical applications such as tissue engineering and drug delivery. Taking inspiration from Nature, I am developing macromolecules that form hierarchically ordered structures across multiple length scales. Such structures include colloidal particles in solution, surface coatings, and polymer (hydro-)gels. Consequently, my research is at the interfaces of synthetic polymer chemistry, material science, and biomedical sciences, and I enjoy collaborating with researchers from multiple disciplines to achieve my research goals.

Key techniques: Self-Assembly, Biomaterials, Nanostructured Materials, Hydrogels, Nanoparticles, Controlled/Living Polymerization, Polymer Characterization, MALDI-ToF-MS

Research system/organism: Polyelectrolytes, Peptide-Polymer Hybrids, Block Copolymers, Star-Polymers, Polymer Micelles, Polymer Nanoparticles, Peptides
