German courses accompanying the studies (“Studienbegleitende Deutschkurse”) (A1 - B2)
ISSK German courses can be taken parallelly to the various courses of studies and are addressed to students who are already enrolled in a study program at Mainz University (JGU).
Classes at levels A1, A2, B1 take place twice a week with a total of 6 academic units and run throughout the semester teaching period. The courses cover all four competencies: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Vocabulary and grammar are taught in the context of these competencies. The course book and material fulfil the standards of CEFR (Common European Framework for Languages).
For every course which you have successfully completed you can obtain 6 ECTS credit points.
Prerequisites for a graded course certificate and 6 ECTS credit points are the following:
- regular attendance
- active participation

- additional shorter tests and the final exam
