FAQ

For how many languages can I register?

You can only register for one language.

Which language proficiency level is expected?

You should have at least a B1 level in order to communicate with a native speaker. If you do not have sufficient knowledge of the language you want to improve, the language acquisition will be very difficult and depends on your tandem partner’s motivation and learning intensity. The higher your language knowledge is, the more effective the tandem will be.

What is a native speaker?

When we choose our native speakers for a tandem program, we expect them to have at least one parent who spoke to him or her in the foreign language for the entire life or that the person has lived for a considerable time in the country where the target language is spoken.

The tandem should be able to pass on, besides his or her language skills, current knowledge about his or her own home country and its culture.
