Getting started – Master of Science Physics

We recommend that students attend the introductory course at the beginning of the Master’s degree program. In this course, you will receive information on your degree program and formal aspects, such as how to register for courses and examinations on JOGUStINe.

In the Master’s degree program, you can choose to concentrate more on experimental or more on theoretical mathematics within the focus of your degree program. You can select your focus from the following fields: Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Physics, and Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics. Students benefit greatly from the broad spectrum of research activities in Mainz, as it provides them with a wide range of possible topics for their Master’s theses. These topics can be selected from three areas of specialization.

If you have any questions concerning, for example, your semester schedule, please contact the departmental advisory services (Studienfachberatung).
