In the degree program “Master of Science Mathematics”, students have the chance to enhance what they learned during their Bachelor’s degree program and specialize in one specialist field of mathematics. The degree program lasts four semesters (standard period of study) and is concluded with a scientific Master’s thesis.
During your first three semesters, you must complete two advanced modules from various mathematical branches (A/B/C). Upon completion of these modules, you will need to register for a specialization module in order to specialize in one particular mathematical branch in preparation for your Master's thesis. In addition, you must attend two advanced seminars, both of which should also cover different mathematical branches. You may select four supplementary modules (specialist lectures) of your choice from any of the mathematical branches, making sure that you have covered all three branches by the end of your degree. Your Master’s thesis and final oral examination are scheduled for the third and fourth semester.
