Sebastian Weil studied History and American Studies at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. During the studies he worked as assistant at the "Forschungsschwerpunkt Historische Kulturwissenschaften". After an ERASMUS-year at the University of Glasgow he acquired the M. A. with a thesis covering "Monasteries in the Anglo-Scottish Borders during the Wars of Independence".
Research interest are: diplomatics, history of Scotland and the British Isles in the middle ages, the late medieval church, and cultural history.
