The Research Unit Historical Cultural Sciences regularly invites excellent foreign researchers to Mainz. Within the framework of a fellowship they are supposed to work on their own appropriate projects, but especially they are supposed to support the Cultural Sciences in Mainz in reflecting methods and theories. The fellows attend and organize workshops and conferences and thereby help to train and educate young scientists in Mainz and to enrich discussions within the University. Their work promotes the development of specific projects as well as it fosters the (inter)national networks of the Research Focus Historical Cultural Sciences at the JGU Mainz.
