In a showcase located in the corridor of the Department of Anthropology and African Studies, treasures from the collection are displayed, often in relation to special events. Currently, the showcase displays the literary work of Taiye Selasi.

The display is part of a series launched in October 2009, featuring "African Literature in the 21st Century". So far, the series has included displays on Fatou Diome, Chris Abani, Patrice Nganang, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Emmanuel B. Dongala, Meja Mwangi, Aminatta Forna, Sefi Atta, Paulina Chiziane, Sindiwe Magona, Ben R. Mtobwa, Shimmer Chinodya, Helon Habila, Maaza Mengiste, Alain Mabanckou, Tierno Monénembo, Goretti Kyomuhendo, Yejide Kilanko, Ken Bugul, Teju Cole, Nnedi Okorafor, NoViolet Bulawayo, Marguerite Abouet, Petina Gappah, Imbolo Mbue, and Dinaw Mengestu.
