Everyone needs friends - the book and reading studies included. The "Association of Friends" brings together alumni of Book and Reading Studies in mainz and representatives from the book and media industry who feel a special connection to our department.
We support numerous activities of Book and Reading Studies in Mainz with our membership fees and donations, such as the annual "Mainzer Kolloquium" (Mainz Colloquium), organize alumni meetings at the Frankfurt Book Fair to bring students into conversation with professionals, and support internships and mentoring programs to help students enter the many career opportunities in the book industry.
The chairwoman is Michelle Sattinger, M.A. (alumna), a freelance editor (michelle.sattinger@gmx.de), the vice chairwoman is Maria Scholz, M.A. (alumna), chairwoman of the Distribution Commission of the German Trade Press (m.scholz@avoxa.de), and the treasurer is Dörthe Fröhlich (dfroehli@uni-mainz.de).
Become a Member
You can join the Association of Friends and become a member, whether as a student or otherwise, either via e-mail or by filling in this registration form. The membership fee is 10 Euro per year for students, 25 Euro for all others. Membership also includes an annual gift, but first and foremost, the association serves as a network.
