Medical stress examination

Option 1 - Stress ECG
Test type Step test on the treadmill, bicycle or rower ergometer up to the point of maximum load
Objective Detection of cardiovascular limitations and risk factors as well as determination of maximum performance
Test protocol 1 min resting phase, X steps of 3 min each until exhaustion, 3 min recovery
Measured variables power (watts or km/h), heart rate, lactate
Including test documentation, counselling interview
Option 2 - spiroergometric stress examination
Test type Step test on the treadmill, bicycle or rower ergometer up to the point of maximum load
Objective Determination of the aerobic-anaerobic transition zone, the maximum performance, the maximum oxygen uptake as well as the energy supply from carbohydrates and fats
Test protocol 1 min resting phase, X steps of 3 min each until exhaustion, 3 min recovery
Measured variables power (watts or km/h), heart rate, lactate:

  • Respiration parameters: e.g. oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide release
  • Indirect calorimetry: carbohydrate and fat burning (g/min) under load
Including PC-supported evaluation of the lactate performance curve, determination of the individual training areas, test documentation, consulting session

The medical stress examinations must be combined with one of the following variants of the basic medical diagnostics:

Short medical examination Ä1
Detailed medical examination Ä2

A sports medical examination in our outpatient clinic is subsidised by many statutory health insurance companies with 80% or between 60€ and 120€.
As a rule, the costs are fully covered by the private health insurance companies.
