I am a health and social psychology researcher with a strong interest in the cognitive, social, and biological processes underlying individual self-control over health and social behaviors. My main research focus is to deepen the understanding of how self-control-related factors such as motivation, intention, goals, attitudes, and cognitive capacity affect individuals’ behavior, and how these factors can be used or influenced to change health behavior. As part of this work, I am interested in theory development and in applying cognitive, motivational, and social approaches to investigate and address health behaviors. I use ambulatory assessment as a complement to laboratory research to provide the foundation for individually tailored and adaptive interventions on health behaviors in daily life.
