Getting there

Flying: Frankfurt International Airport is connected to train stations in Mainz and Wiesbaden by frequent local, regional and long-distance trains. Travel time is 20-40 minutes, tickets cost from 4 Euros (local/regional trains). For Mainz Central, we recommend taking S8 or RE 80 trains, normally from platform 3 ("Regionalbahnhof"). For Wiesbaden Central, take the S8/S9 trains from the same platform. Local/regional train tickets are also valid for onward bus/tram travel in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area. Log on the local transport website to plan your journey from the airport to your hotel.

A number of budget airlines serve Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (not to be confused with the real thing). Coaches operate between Frankfurt-Hahn and Frankfurt International/Mainz Central. Travel time is 60-90 minutes.

Train: Mainz Central station ("Hauptbahnhof" or HBF for short) is served by a host of direct long-distance trains (IC, Eurocity and some high speed ICEs). Alternatively, participants can use high speed trains to Frankfurt or Cologne and use onward connections to Mainz.

Car: Exits 19 (“MZ-Finthen”) and 20 (“MZ-Lerchenberg”) provide convenient access from the A60 ring motorway. Participants should, however, note that parking on campus is not generally permitted. Free public parking is available near the main gate at Koblenzer Straße, but the distance to the conference venue is considerable.
