Klara Marie Faßbinder Visiting Professorship

The Visiting Professorship

The Ministry of Education, Science, Continuing Education, and Culture in Rhineland-Palatinate funds and has been promoting an international and interdisciplinary visiting professorship for women and gender research since 2001/2002.

The visiting professorship rotates among the state’s higher education institutions each semester. The goal of the visiting professorship is to start an international trend in Rhineland-Palatinate women and gender research and, through that, to strengthen the university’s reputation in this future-oriented field.

The eponymous Klara Marie Faßbinder was born in Trier in 1890 and was one of the most important activists of the German women’s and peace movements.
