FEFI Finding Education for Female Inmates (11/2013 – 04/2016)

EU GRUNDTVIG MULTILATERAL PROJECT 538856-LLP-1-2013-1-DE-GRUNDTVIG-GMP

”Finding Education for Female Inmates” (FEFI) was a project in which ten partners from eight European countries cooperated on the subject of formal and informal education for adolescent and adult women in prison. By designing questionnaires and interpreting their results, participating countries sought to identify the needs of women in prison. The aim of the project was to develop, provide and evaluate appropriate educational programs for female prisoners as well as prison staff.

Coordinated by the Center for Lifelong Learning (ZWW), the multilateral EU-project was carried out in the framework of the GRUNDTVIG program from November 2013 until April 2016. This project was supported by partner institutions from Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Italy, Malta, Turkey and two correctional facilities from Rhineland-Palatinate. Further cooperation partners were the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Integration, Family, Children, Youth and Women in Rhineland-Palatinate.
