The degree program Bachelor of Science Computer Science lasts six semesters (standard period of study) and consists of two parts: The introductory study period (Grundstudium) and the advanced study period (Hauptstudium). During the first three semesters (introductory study period), students will focus on the fundamentals of computer science and mathematics. The respective modules are defined both in the examination regulations and in the module catalog. During the advanced study period (4th to 6th semester), students will choose modules in accordance with their selected focuses of study. During this period, students will also select a minor subject and choose to either complete an internship in a company or a further specialization in computer science or a minor subject. The Bachelor's thesis (written on a topic selected from one of the main focuses of study) and the final oral examination are scheduled for the 6th semester.

First to third semester
- Acquisition of mathematical and theoretical basics (lectures and courses)
- Acquisition of methodical basics in programming and current programming languages (lectures, courses and internships)
Advanced study period
Fourth to sixth semester
- Specialization in the selected focuses of study (lectures, courses, seminars and internships)
- Courses in the minor subject (see Minor subject - Bachelor of Science Computer Science)
- Internship in a company or further specialization in Computer Science or in a minor subject (Biology, Mathematics, Physics or Economics)
- Bachelor's thesis and final oral examination
